Good bye old friend

For 15 years we've been together.  15 years.  I was but 31 a fresh face who'd moved from New Jersey to this vast glorious green land that is the pacific Northwest.  You saw me through my first days here where I knew no one - the parents being in Malaysia.  You were always a constant no matter where I went.  You were there.  Now the time has come.  I knew it would, I knew that 15 years is a long time, but still I am saddened by the fact that come monday morning you'll be gone.  I'll think of the old times, the good times, the not so good times and I'll always ALWAYS think of you.

My Old Phone

  1. Okay, I am nearly in tears. But then...I began to read a little more into the picture. Are you staring at the phone, hoping your friend will call?

Or is it the dang phone to whom you are saying good-bye. Which is it? I want to know if I can dry my tears or not.

  2. Mel it's my phone. But as Jason just said, or not gone. We got word that we can take our trusty friends from long past HOME with us. So trusty dusty is on his way to Salmon Creek to spend the rest of his days in the office watching over two Lhasas and a PC. It will be a good retirement for him.

  3. So, what you are saying is...your home is now a retirement community for telephones? Sheeez. The older it gets the more care it will need. Are you training the dogs to give it medication?

  4. Sadly trusty dusty can't stay. He must return from whence he came and no doubt end his days as some molten mangle of plastic and wires. However he did have a couple of good days here in Casa Ringer Dinger with the dogs but come the morrow back he goes to work and his final resting place.
